Project & Infrastructure Director (m/f) Porto

Overview

Unilabs Portugal is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Projects & Maintenance (m/f) to lead the planning, execution, and oversight of infrastructure development and maintenance across a network of healthcare facilities. This role ensures that all physical assets support clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance, while enabling scalable growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Define and execute infrastructure strategies aligned with business and operational goals.
• Project Management: Oversee the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects, from design to licensing, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
• Maintenance & Facility Operations: Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs; monitor and optimize performance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, imaging infrastructure); ensure readiness and rapid response to
  - related incidents or emergencies.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain compliance with local and international healthcare facility regulations; conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate operational risks; build and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers/architects, maintenance supervisors, and technical staff; promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement; provide mentorship and development opportunities to team members.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure project management and maintenance, ideally in healthcare.
• Proven ability to lead complex projects in
  - paced,
  - site environments.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare facility regulations and building systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in project management, budgeting and cost management.
