Role: Project Manager – Early-Stage Startup | EU-Funded R&D Project (PT2030)

We’re a biotech company and we are seeking a versatile and
- oriented Project Manager to join an
- stage startup implementing an EU-funded R&D project under Portugal 2030 (PT2030).

This role combines
- on startup execution with strict compliance, traceability and reporting requirements expected in European-funded projects.

Location: [Porto / Hybrid]

⏳ Contract: 24 months
- term contract (project-based)

Scope of the role

The Project Manager will be responsible for
-
- day project coordination, ensuring that technical, financial and dissemination activities are executed in full compliance with PT2030 rules, audit requirements and eligibility criteria, while actively contributing to the startup’s growth and visibility.

Key responsibilities

Project Management & Compliance

- Plan, monitor and document project activities, milestones and deliverables

- Ensure compliance with PT2030 regulations, eligibility rules and contractual obligations

- Maintain complete and auditable records of project activities

- Monitor timelines, risks and corrective actions

Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare technical and financial progress reports

- Support audit processes by ensuring traceability of costs, activities and outputs

- Organise and archive supporting documentation (timesheets, deliverables, dissemination evidence, partner communications)

- Contribute to responses to audit requests and verification procedures

Team & Resource Coordination

- Coordinate internal and external human resources assigned to the project

- Support recruitment and onboarding of collaborators in line with project needs

- Ensure clear allocation of tasks and responsibilities

Dissemination, Communication & Events

- Support and document dissemination and communication activities (events, workshops, conferences)

- Assist in managing social media and visibility actions, ensuring compliance with EU and PT2030 communication rules

- Collect and store evidence of dissemination activities for audit purposes

Business Development & Strategy Support

- Identify and support strategic partnerships aligned with project objectives

- Contribute to sustainability, exploitation and
- project impact strategies

- Support preparation of new funding applications or
- up initiatives

Research & Analysis

- Research funding opportunities, collaborators and market trends

- Support preparation of technical and strategic documentation

Requirements

- Master’s degree in Engineering, Sciences, Management or related fields

- Immediate availability

Nice to have

- Experience in R&D, innovation and EU-funded projects (PT2030, H2020, Horizon Europe, etc. )

- Familiarity with audit processes, eligibility of costs and reporting requirements

- Project management tools and methodologies

- Business development or startup experience

- Professional working proficiency in English
