RAY. BBDM is managing a recruitment process for BW Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration and production (E&P) company operating in key regions such as Gabon, Namibia, and Brazil. Recognized as a leading player in the Oil & Gas sector, BW Energy considers Supply Chain excellence a strategic imperative and is currently seeking a motivated and
- oriented Project Purchaser to join the Supply Chain team based in Lisbon. This position offers
- on involvement in the procurement of small to medium equipment packages, supplier qualification and negotiation, and contract administration. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments and provides exposure to the technical, commercial, and logistical aspects of offshore oil and gas operations. It is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic sourcing activities within a dynamic and international project environment.

Responsibility:

• Responsible for procurement of small to medium equipment packages, in accordance with Supply Chain (SC) related procedures.
• Ensure compliance of best practices and Supply Chain (SC) procedures.
• Provide regular status and progress reporting (Procurement Milestone Plan, etc. ).
• Maintain knowledge of various commodities, available manufacturers and sources.
• Sourcing and development of Bidders List.
• Pre-qualification of suppliers.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
• Evaluate quotations, carry out bid clarifications, condition bids and negotiate with suppliers.
• Review supplier's qualifications on Terms and Conditions and coordination with In-House Legal Team on the review of such qualifications.
• Perform Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) / Life Cycle Costs (LCC) analysis.
• Prepare recommendation to award.
• Prepare and execute Agreement. .
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders in IFS.
• Administer Variations.
• Verify supplier's production schedule, ensure the supplier has a complete and capable plan for meeting the delivery requirements.
• Identify potential and actual disruptions in the supplier's submission and delivery schedules, propose mitigating measures and work closely with supplier to remedy situation.
• Certification of progress or milestone payments.
• Complete supplier performance evaluation and coordinate input from other department / disciplines.
• Finalization of account.
• Manage contract close out, document retention/archive activities.
• Perform other procurement discipline tasks such as expediting, logistics coordination and material receiving.
• Contribute ideas for improvement of best practices.

• Liaise with other internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Business Development, Estimating, Engineering, etc. ).

Qualification requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma within Purchasing and/or Logistic Administration.
• Relevant experience may compensate formal education.

Experience

• Ideally 5 years of relevant experience, primarily in the area of procurement.
• Experience in offshore oil and gas industry is an advantage.
• Previous experience with ERP systems.

• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Solution oriented with good negotiation skills.
• Able to work independently as well as in team.
• Structured and organised, with good attention to details.

Knowledge

• In depth understanding of commercial and contractual issues related to the procurement of goods.
• Familiar with the terminology of the oil & gas industry.
• Understanding / knowledge of ERP systems.
• Understanding and knowledge of the technical, contractual and commercial issues related to design and engineering of Floating, Production, Storage and Offloading vessels is an advantage.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
