PV Commissioning Assistant (m/f)

Eurowind Energy is a Danish limited liability company, which over the years has become a leading developer and operator of photovoltaic, wind turbine and P2X projects. The company has more than 2. 000 MW of operating assets under management in several countries across Europe and has been increasing its presence throughout the European market, including Portugal. The operations in the Southern European Region are run by the Portuguese office which also hosts a competence centre for solar projects for the whole group.

Due to our recent growth in development, construction and operation of renewable power plants, we are currently looking for a PV Commissioning and Operation Assistant for the Portuguese market. This job offers you the possibility of being part of a growing technical and commercial team, who backs other group’s affiliates, while working on a fast growth “startup environment” backed by a large international group.

Main responsibilities

• Assist in the commissioning of solar PV plants, including functional testing, system validation, and performance verification.
• Operate and monitor SCADA systems and Power Plant Controllers to ensure optimal plant performance and compliance with grid requirements.
• Support the operation and maintenance of MV equipment, including switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
• Support on routine inspections, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of plant equipment and systems.
• Assist in the preparation of commissioning and O&M documentation, including test reports, checklists, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with engineering, HSE, and grid compliance teams to ensure safe and compliant plant operations.
• Participate in emergency response and fault resolution activities under supervision.

The profile requirements

• Solid understanding of SCADA and communications systems, PPCs, and solar PV plant architecture.
• Experience operating or assisting with MV electrical equipment (e. g. , switchgear, inverters, transformers).
• Familiarity with electrical schematics,
  - line diagrams, and plant control logic.
• Strong analytical and
  - solving skills.
• Ability to work in field environments and follow strict safety protocols.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data analysis tools.
• Fluent in English (command of other languages will be considered a plus).
• Ability to be based in Porto but to travel occasionally to project sites both nationally and internationally.

Experience and skills

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Previous experience in commissioning or O&M of
  - scale solar PV plants.
• Knowledge of grid codes and interconnection requirements.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles in SCADA environments.
