Backend Engineer (Python/Django)

Remote (locations listed below) | Full time | Permanent

A fast growing fintech scale up is looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help shape the future of its financial platform. With recent backing from top tier institutional investors and a track record of supporting thousands of businesses worldwide, the company provides fast, solutions that power B2B growth.

You’ll be joining a cross functional, globally distributed engineering team, building out core financial services and infrastructure that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.

What you'll be doing

• Building and scaling backend services using Python (Django or similar frameworks)
• Designing and maintaining clean,
  - structured REST APIs
• Working with relational databases (ideally Postgre
  SQL) and designing performant schemas
• Writing clean, tested, production ready code
• Collaborating closely with product, data, and design teams to ship new features
• Monitoring application performance and addressing reliability or security concerns
• Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural discussions
• Supporting continuous improvement across the team

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience (multiple levels available), ideally with Python/Django
• Deep knowledge of API design , microservices and scalable systems
• Experience working with SQL databases and ORMs
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS
• Comfort with Git , testing frameworks (e. g. pytest), and CI/CD workflows
• A strong grasp of security best practices and data protection principles
• An effective communicator (fluent in English) , a collaborative team player, and someone who thrives in fast paced, dynamic environments.

Bonus points if you’ve worked in fintech or product led Saa
S businesses, but we’re open to strong engineers from all industries.
