ABOUT THE ROLE

As a SDET Engineer, you’ll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional QA — you’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a
- left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle. By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Become the first SDET in the team and define how we approach testing;
• Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure
  - quality standards across our product;
• Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing;
• Collaborate closely with engineers to
  - own and write automated tests (unit, integration,
  -
  - end, performance);
• Promote a “shift-left” QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage;
• Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability.

MUST HAVES

• Strong experience of at least 4 years as a Python engineer (building production systems);
• Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing frameworks;
• Hands-on experience with unit, integration,
  -
  - end, and performance/load testing;
• Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture;
• Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes;
• Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck;
• Scrappy mindset: focus on delivering business value over unnecessary perfection;
• Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor;
• Full overlap with Eastern European Time or at least 6+ hours;
• Upper-Intermediate English level.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, Fast
  API);
• Frontend experience (testing approaches and frameworks such as Vue. js or React);
• Early-stage startup experience;
• Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems;
• Leadership experience.
