QA Automation Engineer – Unreal Engine - Virtual Swimming Platform

We’re looking for a QA Automation Engineer to own our testing strategy and automation systems

- end.

This isn’t a manual testing role. You’ll design, build, and scale automation frameworks that keep our Unreal Engine mobile experiences, backend services, and connected hardware performing flawlessly.

You’ll work closely with engineers, designers, and product leads to:

• Build and maintain automated test plans for Unreal Engine 5. 6 mobile builds (i
  OS & Android).
• Extend and optimize the Unreal Automation Framework (UAT / Gauntlet) for gameplay, UI, and performance validation.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines (Perforce, Git
  Hub Actions, AWS).
• Run device-based tests to ensure
  - rate stability, responsiveness, and overall performance.
• Automate UI/UX validation in Unreal UMG and Figma for consistent
  - game experiences.
• Develop custom scripts and tools (Python, Blueprint, or C++) to extend coverage and eliminate repetitive QA work.
• Collaborate
  - person from our Lisbon HQ at least 3 days a week once settled.

• 5+ years in QA automation or software test engineering roles.
• Proven experience testing Unreal Engine 4/5 projects, especially mobile.
• Strong scripting ability in Python, Blueprint, or C++ .
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (Perforce, Git
  Hub Actions, AWS).
• Deep understanding of the Unreal Automation Framework (UAT / Gauntlet) .
• Hands-on AWS experience for build validation and test environments.
• Familiarity with mobile QA tools (Appium , Playwright Mobile ).
• Understanding of Cloudflare, Cloud
  Front, and S3 Origin performance impacts.
• Strong communication skills and a mindset for ownership, collaboration, and quality.

• Experience testing multiplayer or networked systems .
• Background in Io
  T or connected devices .
• Knowledge of API automation , load testing, or telemetry.
• Contributions to open-source QA frameworks .
• Passion for triathlon, swimming, or endurance sports — or you just love building products that help athletes improve.
