QA Automation Engineer (Backend & API Testing)
Overview
We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with a focus on backend and API testing to join our team. If you're passionate about ensuring the quality and reliability of backend services and APIs, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated tests for backend services and APIs, ensuring seamless integration and
- quality delivery. - Perform API testing, contract testing, and integration testing using tools like Postman, Pact, and Rest
Assured. - Collaborate with
- functional teams to define test strategies and ensure applications meet functional, security, and performance requirements. - Utilize Dev
Ops practices and tools (e. g. , Jenkins) for Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. - Manage test cases and defects using tools such as Jira and Xray, ensuring efficient test execution and bug tracking.
- Work within an Agile environment, applying BDD, TDD, and ATDD techniques for continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the overall success of the team by fostering collaboration, attention to detail, and creative
- solving.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with backend and API testing, including
- on experience with tools like Postman, Rest
Assured, and Pact. - Expertise in test automation frameworks and scripting in Java
Script/Type
Script. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools and processes (e. g. , Jenkins) to streamline testing and delivery pipelines.
- Experience with test and defect management tools such as Jira and Xray.
- Proven ability to work effectively in an Agile development environment, using BDD, TDD, and ATDD approaches.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of cloud technologies, especially Amazon AWS.
- Experience with test automation tools like Playwright and Pactum
JS. - In-depth understanding of lower layer testing, including API and contract testing.
