Quality Assurance Automation Engineer

Job Overview

We’re looking for a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer (f/m/d) in the newly formed Sovereign Cloud Delivery Architecture Quality Assurance team of the Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit within the Customer Services and Delivery board area. In this role, you test and operate the internal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by regional Operations teams and help deliver SAP Multi‑Tenant applications to SAP Sovereign Cloud customers, ensuring functional completeness, streamlined deployments, and smooth operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and operate internal SAP Sovereign Cloud environments used as reference by regional Operations teams.
• Assist in delivering SAP Multi‑Tenant applications to SAP Sovereign Cloud customers with functional completeness, streamlined deployments, and smooth operation.
• Collaborate closely with technical product managers, engineers, the security team, SAP product team members, and Operations teams.
• Address Sovereign Cloud challenges of scale and security using functional expertise in application environment setup, functional expertise, manual and automated testing.
• Participate in the overall release lifecycle, including scheduling, coordinating, and executing test cases for releases and patches in the pre‑production Cloud landscape.
• Identify defects, track defect remediation, and incorporate software or solution updates to resolve issues in future deployments.

What You Bring (Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong background in software testing, with hands‑on experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Proven experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium, Webdriver
  IO, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Good understanding of object‑oriented programming and software design patterns (e. g. Loadable Component, Page Object Model, Page Factory).
• Experience in test planning, design, and execution, leveraging tools such as Jira for task management and requirement tracking.
• Practical experience with Test Management Systems (TMS) such as Xray, Zephyr, or HP Quality Center.
• Experience with REST clients and working with API documentation (e. g. Swagger).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, including Jenkins, Git
  Hub Actions, or Git
  Lab pipelines.
• Experience in defect management: detecting, logging, and reporting bugs effectively.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex issues.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate in cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of Software Testing lifecycle with ISTQB Foundations certification.
• Product knowledge of SAP BTP solutions.

Work Experience

• 2+ years of QA experience, including manual and test automation.
