OVERVIEW
Reporting directly to the Quality Technical Manager, this role ensures maintenance of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems and adherence to corporate requirements.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the maintenance of Quality & Food Safety Management Systems.
- Assist in determining departmental needs and developing plans and solutions.
- Support
- party and customer audits. - Act as deputy to the Quality Technical Manager, supporting
- making in their absence and ensuring continuity of quality and food safety operations. - Coordinate and support the daily activities of two Quality Technologists, ensuring alignment with departmental objectives, providing guidance, and fostering their development and performance.
- Support the continuous improvement of the HACCP system, ensuring it aligns with policies, legislation, and standards like IFS. Keep the plan updated, validated, and effectively implemented, with systematic reviews of risk assessments and updates for modifications and new projects. Oversee the food defense plan, including threat assessments, access controls, and annual testing of emergency procedures.
- Maintain and improve the document control system, ensuring procedures and records are accurate,

- date, traceable, and accessible. Ensure full compliance with IFS and corporate documentation policies. - Manage the internal audit program, including planning, scheduling, and conducting audits, managing findings, and reporting results.
- Oversee the management and

- conformities from audits, incidents, complaints, and other sources. Conduct
- ups with area managers to ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively and timely. Keep records and escalate issues as needed. - Develop and deliver training on HACCP, Quality, and Food Safety topics, including GMPs and product control.
- Lead initiatives to improve food safety culture, defining, communicating, and reviewing objectives annually.
- Participate in or lead continuous improvement initiatives.
WORK EXPERIENCES
- At least 3 years of management experience in food safety and quality systems.
- Technical Knowledge Skills: Proven experience and knowledge of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems (e. g. , HACCP, IFS, Codex Alimentarius).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written skills in Portuguese and English, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
- Leadership & Influence: Ability to lead initiatives and coordinate
- functional teams. - Organizational Skills: Strong planning and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across departments, fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to assess risks, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions, utilizing data insights and digital tools.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Chemical, Food Engineering, or related Science field (preferred).
- Audit certifications are a plus.
- Trainer certification is a plus.
