Job Purpose

A leading independent academic publishing company is seeking a QA Analyst to ensure the quality and reliability of its business systems. The ideal candidate will meticulously test and analyse software applications to maintain the highest standards of performance and functionality.

Key Accountabilities

• Test complex modules, features, and bug fixes with a deep understanding of system workflows and integrations.
• Focus on requirements to identify gaps and implications, ensuring effective regression testing across integrated systems.
• Collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders, supporting team and departmental goals.
• Apply strong expertise in manual testing techniques to design, execute, and validate complex scenarios.
• Execute automation scripts and demonstrate a willingness to learn and expand automation capabilities.
• Apply knowledge in performance, API, and database testing where applicable.
• Share information proactively across teams, engaging in discussions and Agile ceremonies.
• Research and propose solutions to QA issues, incorporating feedback and exercising sound judgment.
• Contribute to process improvements, best practices, and continuous quality excellence.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Technical Skills

• Manual & Regression Testing: Proficient in testing complex modules, integrated systems, and
  - heavy environments.
• Defect Tracking & Test Management: Skilled in test case design, execution, defect tracking, and issue resolution.
• Agile Methodologies: Experienced in Agile practices (Scrum/Kanban) including sprint planning, daily
  - ups, retrospectives, and reviews.
• Process Improvement: Familiar with QA best practices, proactive in suggesting improvements.
• Performance, API & Database Testing: Working knowledge of performance testing, API testing (Postman, Soap
  UI), and SQL for database validation.
• Automation: Exposure to automation testing, with ability to execute scripts and eagerness to grow automation expertise.
