Quality Engineer (Cork Manufacturing)

We are looking for a
- on Quality Engineer with 2 years’ practical experience in the cork industry (or similar
- material manufacturing). The role combines production optimisation, quality control, process development, HSE support and quality systems management. The ideal candidate is analytical,
- driven, comfortable on the shop floor and fluent in English for internal and customer communication.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain inspection plans and sampling procedures for cork products (dimensional, density, moisture, mechanical checks).
• Monitor production through SPC (control charts), identify trends and act on process deviations.
• Create and update SOPs, work instructions and production control documents;
  
  support traceability and lot control.
• Execute
  - line QC testing, final inspection and coordinate with production to reduce rework and scrap.
• Assist internal and external audits;
  
  support maintenance of ISO 9001 (and ISO 14001 if applicable) and internal HSE requirements.
• Facilitate operator training on quality standards, measurement techniques and HSE best practices.

Required qualifications & skills

• 2 years experience in quality or process role in cork manufacturing or similar
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and experience supporting audits.
• Solid understanding of production processes, sampling, inspection and traceability.
• Strong
  - solving: RCA, FMEA familiarity.
• Good communication in English (verbal and written). Portuguese is a plus but not mandatory.
• Degree or diploma in engineering, quality, industrial technology or related field preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with HSE processes and ISO 14001.
• Previous exposure to product development / trial validation.
