Job Title: RAN Configuration & Operations Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Work Regime: Full-time & Remote(Portugal based)

Overview / Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Radio Access Network Operations Configuration Engineer with up to 5 years of experience:

• Responsible for Configuration on Telecommunications Radio Access Networks;
  
• Understand, revise and prepare operational processes to assure the correct service appliance and improvement;
  
• Control all project metrics and SLAs and promote a proactive resolution of potential issues;
  
• Ensuring proper fault handling and review, collecting metrics and driving/monitoring correction policy;
  
• Major contribution to project/program management;
  
• Advanced configuration skills, and script preparation, validation and implementation;
  
• High level of Soft skills (communication, Problem-Solving, Interpersonal skills).
  

• Execute the plan provided by delivery and planning Teams;
  
• Support Data build / Script creation for each configuration activity with or without field force on site;
  
• Data build for integrations, swap rollouts, expansions, rehoming/cutovers and transmission upgrades on 2G/3G/4G/5G Sites and Controllers;
  
• Coordinate with optimization teams for coverage/capacity improvements;
  
• Supervise software upgrades and RAN reconfigurations;
  
• Handle customer complaints and VIP escalations;
  
• Identify and Prepare automation opportunities and interact with the teams in order to automate processes;
  
• Identify applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems;
  
• Reporting, tracking and update project documentation and tools;
  
• Serve as an expert within your own function, leveraging specialized subject matter expertise;
  
• Out of hours
  - call support;
  
• Planned evaluation and risk analysis;
  
• Interpret internal or external business requirements and recommending solutions/best practices;
  
• Solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify solutions.
  

Requirements

Mandatory Requirements:

• Flexibility and availability to support timetable adjustments, including
  -
  - hours, weekends and bank holidays by service demand and when previously agreed;
  
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology or Computer Science is a plus;
  
• Data build experience for integrations, swap rollouts, expansions, rehoming/cutovers and transmission upgrades on 2G/3G/4G/5G Sites and Controllers;
  
• Hands-on experience and troubleshooting on Vendor OSS (with previous experience in Vendors / Operators, swaps or rollout projects);
  
• In-depth knowledge of 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G configuration and OSS;
  
• Familiarity with RAN optimization tools and statistics platforms;
  
• Strong scripting and reporting skills (e. g. , Excel, SQL);
  
• Experience with vendor RAN platforms (Huawei, Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE);
  
• Excellent
  - solving and incident management skills;
  
• Strong drive & ability to coordinate work for project team members;
  
• Strong customer focus, result and quality oriented;

• Experience with other Mobile Operators networks in Operations and Support across Europe and/or US;
  
• Team spirit, capacity to adapt to new projects and demands;
  
• Good networking skills in international environments and ability to work with different cultures.
