Who You’ll Work With
Research and Data Services (RDS) is a team of information professionals who specialize in secondary research and work alongside Bain’s consulting teams to provide high quality results for our clients, some of the most successful and pioneering businesses in the world.
What You’ll Do
You will join the EMEA PEG/Generalist team. As a research expert within Research and Data Services (RDS) you will provide desk research to consulting staff and practice areas using an extended portfolio of industry‑leading as well as alternative data sources.
You will work closely with consultants as well as with other researchers to assist in research planning, training, information gathering and delivery. A full onboarding program will be tailored for you.
You’ll primarily focus on M&A, Private Equity, and other deal‑related research requests while remaining open to supporting company financials and additional areas as needed.
Working as part of an EMEA/Global industry team will enable you to develop expert‑level knowledge in this area. Throughout your career, you will receive coaching and participate in various training programs.
You will also participate in ongoing product and service evaluations, and resource development activities including their implementation.
About You
The successful candidate will be a collaborative team player who thrives in a fast–paced environment and embraces learning opportunities and new challenges. They should bring a tech‑savvy mindset, demonstrating adaptability in a rapidly evolving role by using generative AI tools effectively and showing a strong interest in continuously improving and streamlining research processes. They should meet the following requirements:
- Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Information Science or equivalent
- 2+ years’ work experience in business information research in a consulting, financial services, accounting, or equivalent firm is preferred
- Solid knowledge of S&P Capital IQ, LSEG Workspace or Moody’s Orbis or other company financials‑related sources
- Ideally some experience with tools such as Dealogic, Pitchbook and Preqin or similar sources
- Proficient use of established Gen
AI tools (Chat
GPT, MS Copilot, Perplexity, etc. ) for everyday tasks - Can‑do attitude, an initiative‑taking approach, and a strong desire to learn new skills
- Analytical mindset, critical thinking skills and attention to details
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a professional, customer‑focused attitude
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) with senior stakeholders and team members across the region
- Fluent in English
- Strong proficiency in at least one other European language
- Eligible to work in EU
