Job Duties
- Culture and manipulate different types of primary and stem cells (including
- derived stem cells) and tissue constructs - Isolate cells from tissue samples
- Decellularization of tissue samples for hydrogel production
- 3D Bioprinting for development of in vitro models for musculoskeletal disease research
- Assess cells and constructs using cellular and molecular biology techniques
- Plan and perform R&D activities, develop experimental methods, analyze data and present results within the project framework
- Write progress reports, participate in group meetings, publish findings in scientific journals, and present at international conferences
- Collaborate in setting up a new laboratory and research team, including responsibility for equipment setup and maintenance
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- MSc. Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field
Experience and Technical Skills
- At least 4 years of experience (including MSc) in experimental research in biomedical field, particularly in biomaterials, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications
- Consolidated experience in culture and manipulation of human cell lines, stem cells and tissue engineered constructs
- Expertise in cell isolation from tissue samples
- Expertise in tissue decellularization techniques for hydrogel production
- Expertise in 3D Bioprinting technologies for multicellular in vitro models
- Expertise in cellular and molecular biology characterization techniques (e. g. , q
PCR, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, multiplex immunoassay) - Knowledge of biomaterial processing and evaluation, particularly responsive/adaptive hydrogels
- Proficient in data analysis, statistical analysis, and modelling
Other Valued Skills
- Research background in interdisciplinary environments (bioengineering, nanomedicine, chemistry)
- Experience with 3D cell culture or tissue engineering models
- International research track record
Personal Skills
- Ability to work in an international team and autonomously
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong scientific writing skills
- Ability to develop research concepts and plans
