Research Assistant – Sustainable Synthesis of Magnetic Nanomaterials and Clusters for Biomedical Applications

Join the Bañobre Research Group at INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory as a Research Assistant in the Development of Sustainable Synthesis of Magnetic Nanomaterials and Clusters for Biomedical Applications.

Overview

The group focuses on developing diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for cancer, inflammatory, and neurological diseases. The role involves assisting research activities related to the synthesis and functionalisation of nanoparticles, performing
- chemical analysis, and delivering progress reports.

Job Duties

• Assist in synthesizing nanoparticles, nanocarriers, and nanoformulations;
• Assist in chemically functionalising nanoparticles, nanocarriers, and nanoformulations;
• Perform advanced
  - chemical and magnetic characterisation of developed products;
• Deliver regular progress reports and presentations;
• Attend consortium meetings.

Mandatory Qualifications

Education

• MSc in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Pharmacy, or equivalent.

Experience and Technical Skills

• Experience in nanotechnology/nanomedicine research;
• Hands-on experience in synthesizing and characterising nanomaterials;
• Experience with advanced physicochemical characterisation technologies;
• Knowledge of nanomagnetism foundations and applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with green and sustainable
  - chemistry synthesis methodologies;
• Knowledge of Quality- and Safe-by-Design principles;
• Experience with drug delivery systems and advanced magnetic characterisation techniques.

Personal Skills

• Hands-on approach with a high commitment to respecting deadlines;
• Problem-solving ability and customer orientation;
• Ability to work independently and as a team player.
