- funded American startup in the financial technology industry, to build their team in the Algarve.
And we’re hiring Research Operations Analyst with 3-6 years experience in FINANCIAL market data such as:
- financial research operations
- financial market data management,
- financial content distribution.
NOTE:
- This is not a general operations role — we are looking for candidates with hands-on experience in
- market research operations, particularly those who have managed
- side content, vendor integrations, or entitlement frameworks at banks, data vendors, or financial research platforms. - This is not a traditional equity research role — it is designed for professionals who understand how
- side research content and market data are structured, tagged, and distributed across financial systems. Candidates should have experience aligning research taxonomies, validating metadata, and supporting ontology or
- data frameworks within investment research,
- vendor, or
- data environments.
This is a hybrid role based around Loulé / Faro, Algarve (2–3 days/week at the office), with competitive compensation in the range of €40. 000–€50. 000 gross annual.
Overview
We are seeking a Research Operations Analyst to assist in the operational execution, data governance, and research provider management activities that underpin Aiera’s research and data ecosystem. Working directly with the Director of Research Operations, this role owns the

- end workflows governing research ingestion, entitlement management, taxonomy alignment, and data integrity — ensuring a unified structure across all
- side providers.
This role is

- side research operations experience, strong organizational skills, and a working knowledge of data workflows, entitlements, and
- data integration. The ideal candidate is
- oriented, analytical, and comfortable navigating both operational and technical workflows within a
- paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Operational Management
- Own the full
- cycle of research entitlements, coverage mapping, taxonomy alignment, and distribution processes across multiple
- side providers. - Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Research Ops, Engineering, Risk & Compliance, Product) to ensure smooth data onboarding and integration.
- Oversee ongoing quality assurance and operational workflows to ensure accuracy and continuity in live content ingestion and entitlement updates.
2. Data & Performance Metrics
- Track and analyze consumption data, readership metrics, and entitlement usage to inform decisions, identify trends, and propose improvements.
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards that visualize operational performance and
- provider engagement. - Identify inefficiencies or gaps in data pipelines and recommend measurable process improvements.
3. Market Data Integration & Research Ontology
- Support ingestion and validation of
- data feeds (e. G. , Bloomberg, Fact
Set, Refinitiv) and ensure alignment between
- data tagging and research distribution. - Design, create, and maintain a unified research ontology that defines how research content, analysts, companies, sectors, and macro themes are classified and related across providers.
- Establish a centralized nomenclature framework ensuring consistent naming conventions for research titles, author attribution, asset classifications, and content metadata.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and partner firms to reconcile terminology discrepancies and implement standardized taxonomy updates.
- Maintain
- referenced mapping between Aiera’s internal structures and industry standards (GICS, RIXML, ISIN, CUSIP etc. ), enabling interoperability and auditability.
4. Documentation & Governance
- Maintain accurate documentation of workflows, data requirements, and operational processes.
- Manage compliance reviews, provider questionnaires, and version control of all taxonomy and ontology assets.
- Contribute to ongoing updates of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and reference documentation for both internal and external stakeholders.
5. Cross-Firm Collaboration
- Liaise with
- side provider contacts to ensure accurate onboarding, entitlement validation, and timely feedback incorporation. - Act as a primary liaison between
- side research providers, internal stakeholders, and Aiera’s data and engineering teams. - Track and follow up on open items related to integration timelines, taxonomy alignment, and bilateral data agreements.
6. Platform Readiness & Project Support
- Support the Director of Research Operations in
- group planning, UAT sessions, and deployment readiness for new entitlements or ontology updates. - Lead coordination rollout activities for new platform features, entitlement frameworks, and
- integration updates. - Participate in QA and validation cycles to confirm operational readiness prior to deployment.
Skills and Experience
1. Experience
- 3-6 years in
- side or
- side research operations, market data management, or financial content distribution. - Deep familiarity with RIXML, GICS, and
- system naming conventions within financial research. - Demonstrated experience managing research taxonomies, metadata structures, and ontology frameworks.
2. Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Excel;
experience using SQL, BI tools, or analytics dashboards. - Familiarity with APIs, SFTP, and
- integration methods. - Experience with
- management or workflow platforms (e. G. , Monday. Com, Jira, Confluence).
3. Soft Skills
- Strong organizational and analytical capabilities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
able to convey technical information clearly. - Proactive,
- driven approach — able to balance multiple projects in a
- paced,
- intensive, international environment.
4. Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
