Offer Description

Summary:There is an open call for one (1) Research Scholarship (“Bolsa de Investigação”) at Instituto de Telecomunicações, in the scope of project 6G-VERSUS. This project has received funding from the Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS JU) under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No 101192633.

Work Objectives:1. Design of the advanced network control system architecture 2. Implementation of advanced 5G/B5G mobile network management mechanisms 3. Integration of the mechanisms involved in the project's pilot tests 4. Validation of the mechanisms and collection of results 5. Participation in activities to disseminate the work

Place of work:The work will be developed at the premises of Instituto de Telecomunicações at University of Aveiro, under the supervision of Prof. Daniel Nunes Corujo.

Duration:6 months, with the possibility of renewal. This type of scholarship has a maximum duration of 4 years. Start date: January 2026 or soon thereafter.

• Proof of enrollment in a higher education course or declaration of intention to enroll in a study cycle leading to an academic degree or in a course that does not confer an academic degree. *

- degree course, must be submitted by the time of contract signing.

After the notification of the results, candidates have 10 working days if they wish to contest the decision.

• Are intended for carrying out R&D activities by students enrolled in a doctoral program, aiming to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the respective academic degree, whether or not integrated into R&D projects.
• Are intended for carrying out R&D activities by master's degree holders who are enrolled in
  - degree courses that are part of the educational programme of a higher education institution, developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.

Candidates must be enrolled in a Computer Science Ph
D. Applicants must have proven software development knowledge of the P4 protocol in Tofino network devices. Applicants must have proven deployment experience of commercial and open source 5G mobile networks in laboratory and industrial environments. Applicants must write and speak Portuguese.

Additional Information

Monthly salary:1917. 83€. The payment will be made by bank transfer.
