Applications are open for 1 (one) Research Studentship(s), within the framework of project/R&D institution Quantum Secure Networks Partnership - 1018P. 06353. 1, financed by European funds

Workplan:Study the
- quantum cryptography standards, in particular the structure of the algorithms and available implementations. Analysis of the security of the different operations in order to assess the level of security and identify the critical operations in their executions.

Duration:The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in September of 2025, and may be eventually renewed up to the maximum of 12 months, including the duration of the initial contract .

Additional Information

Monthly maintenance allowance:the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is €1040, 98 being the payment method of the Fellow by wire transfer.

Selection process

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: Curriculum evaluation, individual interview (in person), knowledge tests, knowledge in the theory and practice in the
- quantum cryptography
- based cryptosystems (Kyber and Dilithium) , with the respective weight of 30%, 20%, 25%, and 25% respectively.

Composition of the selection Jury: Prof. Leonel Sousa, Prof. Paulo Mateus, Prof. Ricardo Chaves.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision, or an appeal to the President of IST, within 15 working days counted from the respective notification.

Workplace:The work will be developed at HPCAS of INESC-ID, under the scientific supervision of Professor Leonel Sousa and Doctor Manuel Goulão.
