BET is seeking a highly motivated Research Technician to join the Natural Bioactives & Nutraceuticals Area. The selected candidate will work in the Tec4Green project, financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan. As a Research Technician in this project, you will contribute to developing a new generation of hybrid and biological products for the protection and nourishment of agricultural crops. You will have a major role in extracting natural bioactive extracts and compounds with potential phytosanitary applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a wide research network in close contact with partners of the national agrifood industry.

Requirements

Research Field Technology » Biotechnology Education Level Master Degree or equivalent

Skills/Qualifications

MSc Degree in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering or equivalent, and at least 2 years of research experience in the natural bioactive area.

Specific Requirements

Technical Skills

Experience in extraction processes of bioactive compounds from natural matrices.

Experience in working with high pressure technologies, namely
- and supercritical fluids.

Experience in performing microwave and/or
- assisted extractions.

Applications will be evaluated based on CV merits, motivation, and experience according to the profile described in this announcement.

Selection process

The selection method will be based on curriculum assessment, in agreement with the requirements stated in the present announcement. Interviews will be conducted only when necessary to distinguish candidates with similar curriculum classifications. The final classification will be calculated based on 50% CV assessment + 50% interview.

In the case the MSc degree was awarded by a
- Portuguese higher education institute, the diploma must follow the guidelines described in the Portuguese Law (Decreto-Lei nº. 66/2018), at the time of application.
