Hospitality General Manager The Client

Our client, UTOPIA, is a newly established
- luxury hospitality brand created by a private UHNW ownership group. UTOPIA is building a portfolio of exceptional hotels and villas across multiple geographies, each designed to deliver a world‑class, highly private guest experience. The brand is now seeking a visionary Hospitality General Manager with deep expertise in luxury product creation, operational excellence, and pre‑opening leadership. This executive will play a pivotal role in shaping the brand identity, defining service standards, and building the operational foundation for the entire portfolio.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to lead the development of a new global hospitality brand from the ground up. The Hospitality General Manager will oversee all aspects of product creation, design review, service concepts, operations, and implementation of best practices across the full portfolio of hotels and villas. The successful candidate will bring experience from top‑tier luxury hotel groups, strong product and concept development capabilities, and the ability to build and manage ultra‑luxury operations that exceed HNWI guest expectations. This is a role for a strategic builder—an executive who has already created a luxury product and can now architect an entire brand ecosystem.

The Position Key Responsibilities

• Product Development — Define the service model and brand identity in alignment with UTOPIA’s vision;

  shape leisure, wellness, and activity concepts;
  
  
  
  
  
  establish the operational model, staffing strategy, and best‑in‑class service standards;
  
  
  
  
  
  ensure guestconfidentiality, privacy, and security;
  
  
  
  
  
  incorporatesustainability and environmental best practices.
• Design & Construction Review — Influence the design process from an operational and guest‑experience perspective;
  
  
  
  
  
  review and markup fullarchitectural plans;
  
  
  
  
  
  assess layouts for rooms, suites, and public areas;
  
  
  
  
  
  evaluate proposedmaterials, FF&E selections, finishes, and operational back‑of‑house flows;
  
  
  
  
  
  ensure the built environment supports a seamless ultra‑luxury experience.
• Operational Leadership — Build all hotel pre‑opening infrastructure, SOPs, staffing, recruitment, vendor selection, maintenance programs, and service protocols;
  
  
  
  
  
  oversee guest journey mapping from first marketing touchpoint to long‑term retention;
  
  
  
  
  
  develop andinstitutionalize best practices across all properties;
  
  
  
  
  
  establish ongoingperformance controls, reviews, and continuous improvement processes.
• Portfolio Oversight — Provide leadership across the entire collection of UTOPIA hotels/villas while tailoring operations to each property’s unique geography and privacy requirements.

The Ideal Candidate Must Have Qualifications

• Fluent or native‑level English and Spanish.
• Minimum 2+ years in senior hotel management roles (e. G. , Director of Operations, General Manager).
• Strong understanding of UHNW guest expectations and ultra‑luxury service standards.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional languages (e. G. , Portuguese).
• Clear career progression in hospitality operations (e. G. , Front Office → Operations Director → Brand/Product → GM).
• Experience with both international luxury hotel groups (Six Senses, Anantara, Belmond, One&Only, Aman, etc. ) and boutique luxury hospitality properties.
• Demonstrated success building a hospitality product or service standards from scratch at the highest luxury tier.
• Exposure to commercial functions: marketing, budgeting, F&B, spa, wellness, and experience design.
• Knowledge of PMS systems, hotel technology stacks and integrations.
• Ability to elevate guest experience while increasing operational efficiency.
• Strong business acumen, empathy, and hands‑on leadership style.
