MISSION:
The mission of Safety and Environment Technician is to support the Quality, Environment, and Safety Management in planning and implementing the health, safety, and environmental management system. Develop, organize, coordinate, and control prevention and protection activities against occupational risks for employees and stakeholders, as well as pollution prevention measures and environmental protection.
Responsibilities
- Develop, adapt, and implement health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments and audits, monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive measures arising from these assessments to ensure risk control (prevention plan).
- Provide training and information to employees.
- Act in the event of accidents and/or incidents: report to competent authorities, investigate occurrences, and implement actions to prevent recurrence.
- Perform ergonomic assessments and promote continuous improvement of working conditions.
- Report risk situations and implement actions to prevent accidents/incidents.
- Develop processes for assessing environmental aspects and impacts, and monitor the implementation of corrective measures and operational control.
- Manage the implementation of
- protection measures and conduct drills, including the preparation of emergency plans (firefighting, evacuation, first aid). - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation, existing internal procedures, and consult employees accordingly.
- Ensure verification and updating of Safety Data Sheets for chemical products and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Manage waste and maintain contact with relevant entities.
- Manage PPE, ensuring correct use, suitability, and validity.
- Manage materials necessary for first aid provision.
Qualifications
- Higher Education in Occupational Safety and Environment.
- Professional certification at level VI as Senior Occupational Safety Technician.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 standard.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 standard.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Spoken and written knowledge of English and/or French.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
- Organizational ability, initiative, dynamism, proactivity, and resilience.
- Good interpersonal skills and team spirit.
