Sales Excellence and Commercial Operations IT Project Manager
About the Role
Viatris Pharmaceuticals S. L. seeks a Sales Excellence and Commercial Operations IT Project Manager to lead strategic projects across the EU region, driving the deployment of Sales Excellence and Commercial Operations information systems. The role will define and implement IT solutions that align with commercial objectives, support business reporting, and enhance sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary point of contact and accountable lead for IT Sales Excellence and Commercial Operations projects within the EU.
- Understand commercial customers’ operational needs and strategic direction in Sales Operations, Analytics, Reports, and Forecasting from both regional and local perspectives.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into optimized sales operation activities, technology solutions, KPI reports, and dashboards.
- Identify opportunities where technology can provide a competitive advantage in sales operations, proposing innovative approaches to key business questions.
- Prepare project IT business cases, present for approval, manage scope changes, and ensure adherence to IT governance.
- Design Sales Excellence and Commercial solutions that support strategic decision‑making and answer clear business questions.
- Build and maintain trustful relationships with customers and stakeholders, communicating objectives, requirements, and progress regularly.
- Manage and set stakeholder expectations, obtain sponsorship endorsement, and secure agreements from SMEs.
- Ensure resources for projects, define RFQ and SOW for external vendors, and oversee delivery across the solution lifecycle.
- Maintain project plans, milestones, and activities, ensuring quality deliverables and alignment with LT expectations.
- Leverage technology roadmaps to guide solution definition and design, ensuring future strategy alignment.
- Ensure all aspects of Commercial Operations are considered to guarantee successful outcomes.
- Provide technical project management: scope definition, estimates, budgets, timelines, resource management, metrics tracking, and program delivery to scope and quality standards.
- Lead client, vendor, and stakeholder meetings; conduct status reviews and communicate progress.
- Document functional requirements and perform business and functional analysis as required.
- Identify, manage, and resolve project risks and issues, escalating significant risks appropriately.
- Ensure smooth transition of production applications to support and maintenance teams, collaborating with Infrastructure, Security, Compliance, and Run & Support groups.
- Review completed projects against business cases to validate realized benefits.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (information technology, computer science, engineering).
- Commercial and Sales Excellence experience or coursework.
- Advanced proficiency in English.
- 5+ years of proven experience delivering business and technical requirements for commercial solutions and technologies.
- Demonstrated IT project management skills: planning, organizing, and managing resources.
- Strong communication skills, able to translate complex technical or project details into user‑friendly terms.
- Assertiveness and influence ability.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry (desired).
- Strong ability to engage cross‑functional teams to deliver on time and within budget.
- Experience applying industry‑standard business analysis approaches.
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and effective communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, earning the trust of customers and teammates.
