Suite Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems

Join Canonical, a leading open‑source software company, as a senior engineering leader responsible for the design, development, and continuous improvement of internal products that power our Commercial Systems unit. This role is fully remote and based in the EMEA region.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Manager will own end‑to‑end product development and team leadership for systems such as Net
Suite and Salesforce, enabling Canonical employees to perform their work efficiently.

• Architect and develop internal tooling and applications that integrate with Net
  Suite, Salesforce, and other business systems.
• Lead a high‑performing team of software engineers, setting clear goals, reviewing work, and fostering a culture of quality and continuous delivery.
• Co‑create product roadmaps with business stakeholders to align engineering priorities with commercial objectives.
• Drive process improvements to increase engineering velocity, code quality, and system reliability.
• Maintain a deep understanding of business needs to deliver the most impactful solutions to Canonical employees.

Qualifications

• Exceptional academic track record at the high school and university levels.
• Undergraduate degree in a technical subject or a compelling narrative about an alternative chosen path.
• Track record of exceeding expectations to achieve outstanding results.
• Experience developing software in Salesforce, Net
  Suite, or other CRM/ERP systems.
• Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills.
• Result‑oriented, with a personal drive to meet commitments.
• Ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks.

• Experience with accounting, sales, sales operations, or other business roles.
• Performance engineering expertise.
