? WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU?
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in SAP, with at least 5 years specifically as an SAP IS-U Architect, Solution Architect, or Lead Consultant.
- Deep,
- on expertise in core SAP IS-U modules (Billing, Invoicing, FICA, Device Management, Customer Service). - Proven experience in a Maintenance, Operations, or Run environment, demonstrating a focus on stability, problem management, and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of SAP system landscapes (ECC/S/4HANA), Basis concepts, performance tuning (SQL/ABAP), and integration technologies (PI/PO, web services).
- SAP Certification in IS-U or related modules is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Dev
Ops practices (CI/CD, Git, etc. ). - Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of the utilities industry, Electricity & Gas, including billing, metering, or customer engagement processes, is a plus.

- Utilities Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of utilities processes (e. g. , Meter-to-Cash, deregulation, billing cycles).
- Risk Management: Proactive identification and mitigation of technical and operational risks in the "Run" environment.
? HOW WILL YOUR DAILY JOB BE?
Leadership & Team Management:
- Mentor and guide internal functional and technical teams (e. g. , ABAP Developers, Basis Administrators, Functional Consultants) on SAP IS-U best practices, solution design, and troubleshooting methodologies within a 'Run' context.
- Lead the technical review and
- off on all major changes, hotfixes, and system updates to ensure architectural integrity and stability. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance process, focusing on incident reduction and efficiency gains.
Platform Strategy & Implementation:
- Define and govern the architectural roadmap for the SAP IS-U system landscape in a maintenance mode, including patch management, minor version upgrades, and integration with surrounding systems (e. g. , CRM, EAM, external Billing).
- Oversee the

- end impact assessment for all proposed changes (break-fixes, minor enhancements) across the entire IS-U solution stack. - Ensure that the system architecture is scalable, resilient, and highly available to meet operational service level agreements (SLAs).
Solution Development & Customization:
- Provide
- level consultation on complex, recurring production issues (Level 3 support), determining the root cause and defining permanent architectural fixes. - Design and approve functional and technical specifications for critical bug fixes and essential minor enhancements, ensuring adherence to established architectural standards.
- Evaluate and manage the use of standard SAP functionality vs. custom developments (Z-objects) to minimize technical debt and simplify system maintenance.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between the Operations team, Business Process Owners (BPOs), and IT leadership regarding the performance and health of the SAP IS-U platform.
- Communicate complex architectural and technical issues into clear,
- focused language for
- technical stakeholders. - Lead technical discussions during major incident reviews and problem management meetings to ensure rapid and lasting resolution.
Performance Optimization & Analytics:
- Proactively monitor and analyze the performance of key IS-U processes (e. g. , Billing runs, meter reading uploads, FICA dunning) and recommend architectural improvements (e. g. , parallel processing, database optimization).
- Lead efforts to optimize system jobs and background processes to improve efficiency and reduce the risk of critical batch failures.
- Manage the technical aspects of data archiving and retention within IS-U and FICA to maintain optimal system size and performance.
Compliance & Security:
- Ensure the SAP IS-U platform adheres to all relevant industry regulations, data privacy laws, and internal IT security policies (e. g. , GDPR, SOX controls relevant to FICA).
- Design and manage the implementation of security roles and authorizations within IS-U to comply with the principle of least privilege.
- Oversee the technical setup for Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) for the IS-U system.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement robust security measures for customer data and transactions.
