Redbridge International School is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic Science Teacher to provide maternity cover during the Summer Term. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and academically rigorous science lessons across Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE Coordinated Science, contributing positively to a collaborative and supportive secondary team.

Teaching Responsibilities

The teaching allocation will include approximately 12 hours per week, comprising:

IGCSE Coordinated Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics)

• Two groups
• Teaching in line with Cambridge assessment objectives and examination requirements

Cambridge Lower Secondary Science

• Combined sciences - Stage 9
• Focus on
  - based learning, practical skills, and scientific literacy

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver
  - structured lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum frameworks
• Use a range of teaching strategies to support all learners
• Assess, monitor, and provide feedback on student progress
• Maintain clear and accurate records of attendance, assessment, and reporting
• Contribute to a positive learning environment that promotes curiosity and engagement in science
• Work collaboratively with the science department and wider secondary team
• Ensure continuity of learning through clear communication and handover where appropriate

Candidate Profile

• Qualified teacher status, with a Bachelor’s degree in Science (or a closely related discipline) and a PGCE
• Strong subject knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at IGCSE standard
• Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is highly desirable
• Organised, adaptable, and confident in stepping into an established programme
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
