ROLE SUMMARY King’s College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is a leading international school in the Lisbon area. We offer a global education through the Cambridge International curriculum up to Year 10, complemented by a bilingual programme in Portuguese and English for students up to Year 5. We are seeking a well‑qualified and passionate Secondary School Science Teacher to join our team from January 2026 (flexible). The role focuses on teaching Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3, with the potential to expand to Key Stage 4 and the IB Diploma Programme from 2026 onwards. Science is taught holistically at King’s, incorporating Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, supported by excellent laboratory facilities and a dedicated full‑time technician. This is a full‑time, permanent position within a strong and collaborative Science department committed to hands‑on, inquiry‑based learning.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver engaging, interactive lessons across Key Stages 2 and 3, integrating Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Inspire curiosity and scientific thinking through practical, inquiry‑based learning.
• Plan, assess, and monitor student progress to ensure high achievement for all learners.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Science curriculum.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the full‑time technician to deliver high‑quality lab experiences.
• Participate actively in the pastoral life of the school.
• Support co‑curricular clubs, enrichment activities, and science events.
• Promote the school’s values and culture of academic excellence.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

• A degree in Science or a related field and certified teaching status.
• Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 2 and/or 3.
• Strong knowledge across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous professional growth.
