Offer Description

A call is open for the award of 5 (five) Research Initiation Scholarships, within the scope of the administration, maintenance, and development of the DEI – Department of Informatics Engineering infrastructure, funded by Cost Center 2801 – DEI

Workplan:

●Software development work to support DEI faculty and teaching activities
● Research and development of solutions for the IT management of DEI courses and dissertations
●Administration tasks related to the DEI's IT infrastructure
● Maintenance tasks related to the DEI's IT infrastructure

Duration:The scholarships will have a duration of 12 months, with four scholarships expected to start on September 1, 2025, and one scholarship starting on October 15. Not renewable.

It is mandatory to formalize applications with the submission of the following documents: i) B1 Form – Fellowship application ( http://drh. tecnico. ulisboa. pt/bolseiros/formularios/ ); ii) Curriculum Vitae ; iii) academic degree certificate, where applicable; iv) proof of enrollment at an academic degree course or at a course that does not award an academic degree; v) motivation letter;

Admission Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s student in Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar fields. Candidates with the appropriate profile should have an interest and experience in working in the area of computer systems administration and in the development of solutions for parallel processing, information systems, computer networks, cluster and cloud computing, among others.

Candidates must have good communication skills, as their tasks will include user support activities. Candidates must be proficient in Portuguese, both spoken and written. Candidates must not have any overdue courses.

Additional Information

Monthly maintenance allowance:the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is 651, 12 €, being the payment method of the Fellow by wire transfer.

Eligibility criteria

Selection process

Selection methods: The selection methods will be the following: The selection methods to be used are as follows: curriculum evaluation (academic progress) – 20%, interview – 30%, and practical exercise – 50%.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.

Deadlines and procedures of complaint and appeal. A complaint may be lodged from the final decision, or an appeal to the President of IST, within 15 working days counted from the respective notification.

Workplace:The work will be carried out in person at the DEI facilities, located on the IST campus in Alameda, Lisbon, with mandatory
- site presence (daily schedule: 1 hour per working day).
