Scrum Master/ Delivery Manager - Portugal - Freelance
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Scrum Master / Delivery Manager to lead agile delivery for our IT projects over a 12-month engagement. Based in Portugal and working remotely, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with UK-based stakeholders, with occasional travel to the UK (fully expensed).
This role is ideal for someone with strong delivery leadership in IT environments, confident in managing
- functional, distributed teams, and experienced in navigating
- paced, agile project landscapes.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate key agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives).
Drive the delivery of IT-focused projects, ensuring timelines, quality, and stakeholder expectations are met.
Serve as the main point of coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders.
Remove blockers and support the team in achieving sprint goals and delivering business value.
Monitor delivery progress using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure Dev
Ops.
Provide clear and regular status updates and delivery reporting to senior stakeholders.
Promote agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a Scrum Master or Delivery Manager role within IT projects.
Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, etc. ).
Experience leading distributed teams in a
- first environment.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Hands-on experience with agile project tools (e. g. , Jira, Confluence, Azure Dev
Ops).
Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Eligible to work remotely from Portugal.
