Role profile
This position requires an experienced and fully competent professional with a broad set of data engineering and machine learning engineering skills, and possibly also basic leadership skills.

New features: 50-70%
Documentation: 15%
Meetings, incl. supervision: 10-30%
Maintenance: 5%
Responsibilities
- Partner with product owners to design, implement, and maintain backend components for digital products.
- Collaborate in
- functional teams to define objectives, requirements, and timelines. - Lead projects and advocate for backend best practices, supporting strategic and innovation initiatives.
- Architect scalable backend services and APIs, including AI integration and deployment of microservices.
- Operationalize AI models with data science teams and ensure system reliability and scalability.
- Maintain technical documentation and mentor junior engineers.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and onboarding.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle, adhering to best practices like Dev
Ops, Clean Code, and DDD. - Ensure security and compliance, working closely with relevant teams.
- Stay updated on industry trends and recommend process or technical improvements.
Most desirable qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in software engineering principles, development processes, technologies, extreme development methodologies and practices and industry trends for Development and QA.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages such as Python, Go
Lang - Some experience with at least one of the following AI/ML technologies (Tensorflow, Py
Torch, Open
AI Gym) - Proficiency in at least one of the modern cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Proficiency in best practices for software engineering (code review,
- stage testing, CI/CD) - Some experience with scalable development (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong
- solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail. - Some experience with data processing (building pipelines, data versioning)
- Some experience with applied AI/ML theory (e. g. neural networks, reinforcement learning, statistical modelling)
- Some experience with AI/ML tools (Jupyter Notebook, DVC, Neptune. ai, Weights & Biases)
- Working experience in Agile practices, product and project management principles.
- A passion for staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Able to communicate technical concepts to
