Senior Application Support Specialist
We are looking for a Application Support Specialist to join an exciting project in the banking industry with more then 6 years of experience!
Location: Lisbon, Portugal
Work Model: Hybrid (2x per week

What Are We Looking For?
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Creative and logical
- solving mindset with the ability to analyze change requests or issues and define effective solutions, including schematic/diagram documentation. - Hands-on experience managing services running on Linux or Windows Servers (start, stop, deploy, debug).
- Ability to develop small programs/scripts in Shell, Perl, Python, or Ruby.
- Knowledge of Confluence, JIRA, Git/Bitbucket is a plus.
- Understanding of Application Servers (Web
Sphere, Tomcat, JBoss, etc. ) is a plus. - Experience in planning, implementation, and sizing of IT infrastructure.
- Prior experience with job schedulers (e. g. , CA Workload Automation, Control-M).
- Solid technical knowledge of protocols such as TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP,
- Understanding of system architectures (SSO, Firewalls, load balancers, storage systems, network basics).
- Knowledge of Dev
Ops tools is required.
What Will You Do?
- Gather technical requirements for system enhancements.
- Participate in the change request process for system updates (both technical and functional).
- Contribute to technical testing efforts to ensure smooth production delivery.
- Launch and follow up on assigned initiatives.
- Assist in meeting project deadlines and schedules.
- Identify product gaps or weaknesses and propose areas for improvement.
- Communicate and apply project standards consistently.
- Prioritize assigned projects and independently take ownership of tasks.
- Coordinate with project stakeholders and provide timely updates on status.
- Perform Level 3 support and analysis of reported issues, evaluating alternative solutions or workarounds to minimize impact, ensuring proper resolution, and following up with vendors or service providers.
- Ensure smooth execution of all technical processes (Online, STP, flows, and batches), maintaining documentation of known issues for
- line support.
