This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers relocation support and an international, multicultural environment.

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking a (Senior) Applications & Technology Architect in its Information Systems Directorate (IS), Enterprise Architecture Unit (EA).

This is a
- time, permanent position at grade 5/6.

Purpose

Design
- level application architectures, integrate complex solutions, lead innovation, and shape digital transformation.

Operating Network

The Enterprise Architecture Unit supports the digital transformation of the EIB Group, aligning with strategic and operational goals, and fostering innovation.

Accountabilities

• Lead application & technology architecture practice, establishing standards and guidelines.
• Design
  - oriented solutions, collaborating with Solution Architects and Delivery teams.
• Guide development across business, application, technology, data, operations, and security layers.
• Document architectural designs and manage related initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and innovation.
• Ensure practices align with market standards and monitor activities.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to translate business needs into technological solutions.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Enterprise/Technology/Application Architect.
• Deep knowledge of application architecture principles, design patterns, and integration techniques.
• Experience with multiple technology stacks and frameworks.
• Understanding of data architecture, including database design and data modeling.
• Experience in designing solutions covering application, data, and business layers, preferably in Cloud environments.
• Proficiency in English and/or French; knowledge of other EU languages is a plus.
