We're looking for an awesome Senior Applied Optical Scientist (Experimental) to join our team on our journey to revolutionize personalized medicine
About your Role / What will you be doing?
- Develop and pioneer optical approaches from concept to a working breadboard prototype to further our mission in personalised medicine.
- Work closely with data scientists and bioclinicians to develop technologies that are aligned with customer requirements.
- Analyse and interpret experimental data to ensure that practical implementations of approaches align with performance goals.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in applied physics, optics, and advances in spectroscopy for clinical applications.
- Communicate findings effectively across disciplines, ensuring alignment between theoretical and experimental efforts.
- Contribute to research publications, patents, and presentations at leading conferences.
Requirements ✔
- Strong expertise in applied physics, optics, photonics or related fields with a demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge to perform
- world experiments in an interdisciplinary setting. - Proven experience working in an experimental laboratory based setting, ideally collaborating with data scientists, interdisciplinary scientists and engineers
- Experience with designing, building and optimizing optical instruments or methods.
- Proficiency in optical simulations and data analysis using Python, Julia or similar tools.
- Track record of working in (interdisciplinary) teams
- Able to thrive in a

- up environment that may require adapting quickly to new directions - Deep curiosity for solving interdisciplinary problems with an innovative and
- solving mindset - Excellent communication skills, capable of translating complex concepts into practical applications and to
- specialists in a clear and engaging manner. - Proven track record in scientific publications
Qualifications ✔
- Ph
D in Nanoscience, Physics, Physical Chemistry or related field. Exceptional candidates with Master degree and extensive research experience also considered - +4 years of experience in academia or industry; working on experimental or applied interdisciplinary science
- Experience in developing optical and/or spectroscopy methods that have been experimentally tested and verified
- Previous collaborations with data scientists, bioclinical researchers or engineers
- Experience in supervising junior scientists is welcome but not required.
