A U. S.company, Moment is establishing the tech and innovation team in Lisbon. This role will have hybrid WFH and work from Lisbon office. Reports to VP, Engineering (Lisbon based).

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement secure, scalable APIs and data pipelines for ingesting and distributing dynamic event schedules
• Build systems that integrate with calendar platforms (Google, Apple, Outlook) and support AI-driven personalization
• Develop
  - driven backend infrastructure (e. g. , using AWS/GCP, Pub/Sub, Event
  Bridge, etc. ) to handle sync, updates, and
  - time user customization
• Implement modern AI features
• Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and AI teammates to ship features with real user impact
• Implement and own core backend systems such as:
• Orchestrated agentic workflows, MCP, RAG systems, custom datasets, and regression testing frameworks
• User identity and authentication (OAuth, session tokens)
• Permissions and sharing logic for public/private calendars
• Webhook infrastructure for
  - directional sync
• Schedule ingestion from formats like PDF, CSV, or API feeds

Main Requirements

• 6+ years experience building
  - grade backend systems at scale
• Strong command of Python/Node
  Js with experience building APIs (REST/g
  RPC/Graph
  QL)
• Experience building products from scratch
• Experience with Lang
  Chain, Open
  AI API, or comparable frameworks
• Solid grasp of agentic design, API-centric architecture, data pipelines, and testing automation
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML integrations (document processing, OCR, content extraction)
• Experience with
  - time systems (Web
  Sockets, subscriptions,
  - driven architectures)
• Hands-on experience with
  - native development (GCP Prefered), serverless functions, and containerized deployments
• Deep knowledge of one or more: message queues, pub/sub,
  - sourcing, or CRON/event scheduling systems
• Familiarity with data modeling and storage (Postgre
  SQL, Redis, Big
  Query, Firestore)
• Interest in AI/ML systems, especially around
  - time personalization or LLM integration
• Comfortable working in a startup context: rapid iteration, ambiguous requirements, and direct customer feedback loops
• Experience integrating or building with
  - party APIs, especially calendar APIs or identity providers (Google, Apple, etc. )
