Senior Backend Developer - Allegro Team (Riskified)

Riskified is a leading fraud intelligence platform that empowers e‑commerce businesses to prevent chargebacks and fraud at scale. We are looking for a seasoned Backend Engineer to join our payment fraud group and help build scalable, data‑driven services that power our AI‑powered platform.

About the Role

As a Backend Developer you will:

• Design and implement scalable backend architectures that support machine‑learning and data‑driven systems.
• Build real‑time and batch processing pipelines using typed functional programming languages such as Scala or Java.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to define requirements, review designs, and integrate new features.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and deployments as part of a CI/CD pipeline.
• Troubleshoot production incidents, improve performance, and ensure reliability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Required Experience and Skills

• 5+ years of backend development experience with typed functional programming languages (Scala, Java).
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong knowledge of relational and No

• Experience with distributed stream processing (Kafka, Spark) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Git.
