Senior Backend Developer – Viseu, Viseu District, Portugal

We are a European company founded by M6 and Bertelsmann / RTL Group, with 350 employees across Paris, Lyon, and a new office in Lisbon. We look for Backend Software Developers who thrive on challenges—whether related to features, scaling, performance, or peak traffic.

Main Responsibilities

As an API Data Engineer you will:

• Create, test, and maintain APIs that expose data produced by our data science teams to the rest of the organization.
• Participate in code‑architecture discussions and propose improvements for existing code and tools.
• Collaborate closely with the team to ensure stable, high‑quality APIs.

What We’re Looking For

• At least 3 years of experience designing and building APIs, preferably in Python, but also Go, PHP, or Rust.
• Proficiency with cloud tools, especially AWS.
• Comfortable with git, CI/CD pipelines, and unit testing.

Optional Skills

• Knowledge of Infrastructure‑as‑Code (e. g. , Terraform).
• Dev
  Ops appetite (Kubernetes, HAProxy, monitoring).
• Strong SQL and database familiarity.
• Experience with streaming/event platforms (Kafka, Kinesis).
