Your Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to join our agile and international team. In this role, you will shape the new messaging ecosystem as part of a global team of Software Engineers, Architects, and Dev
Ops.

Your Responsibilities

1. Drive and nurture the messaging domain within the new IT ecosystem KNITE, influencing, shaping, and designing its evolution;
2. Connect over 200 applications in the cloud and orchestrate their interconnectivity using Apache Kafka and its ecosystem;
3. Improve the Messaging and Event Platform by developing new features that add value to our customers, and support application teams as a “Customer Solution Architect” during their adoption of the platform;
4. Operate the platform and handle
   - call duties;
5. Define guidelines and develop tools to help developers utilize the Messaging and Event Platform following modern
   - driven patterns;
6. Apply and promote messaging guidelines and best practices across teams to ensure compliance and optimal use of the platform;
7. Establish and facilitate the implementation of messaging standards.

Your Skills and Experiences

1. Proficiency in at least one major programming language, preferably Java, with experience working in a polyglot application landscape;
2. Application of software craftsmanship principles like Test Driven Development and Clean Code;
3. Embrace Dev
   Ops culture and Infrastructure as Code practices, including Kubernetes and Helm;
4. Experience deploying applications on Kubernetes in a cloud environment, ideally AWS;
5. Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka and
   - driven architectures;
6. Experience with message specification formats like Proto
   Buf, JSON Schema, or Avro, and principles like API First and Async
   API;
7. Ability to collaborate effectively in international teams.
