Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior/Staff Software Engineer with strong experience in Golang and microservices architecture to design, build, and scale the next generation of Easypay’s payment platform.

Our platform exposes public-facing APIs that power critical merchant integrations. Every detail matters. From API design to performance and error handling, you will play a key role in ensuring we deliver a world-class developer experience.

We are a Remote-First company: you can work from anywhere in Portugal, or choose to collaborate from our Lisbon office. We believe you should work wherever you’re most productive.

What You’ll Do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Golang microservices
• Ensure precision in API design, versioning, and documentation
• Lead technical discussions and guide architecture decisions for secure, performant payment systems
• Collaborate with Product, Ops, and Compliance to deliver secure, compliant, and resilient solutions
• Mentor and coach other engineers, elevating the team’s technical capabilities
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement practices
• Contribute to our developer experience strategy — making integrations simple and reliable for merchants

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years working with Golang in production systems
• Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Deep understanding of REST and g
  RPC API design
• Solid knowledge of microservices principles and cloud-native development (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience with relational databases (My
  SQL) and familiarity with No
  SQL/datastores (Redis, Dynamo
  DB, etc. )
• Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Open
  Telemetry, ELK, etc. )
• Ability to work autonomously, make informed
  - offs, and drive initiatives to completion
• Strong attention to detail, you care about API consistency, naming, and developer experience
• Excellent
  - solving skills and curiosity to explore new technologies and approaches
• Strong communication skills

• Experience with Typescript/Node. js
• Experience with payment systems, fintech, or regulated environments
