What we’re looking for

You’ll be working on one of our flagship products: an
- driven music platform that changes how millions discover, interpret, and connect through music. The product is entering a new stage of rapid growth. As Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll own the systems that power this growth. This isn’t a maintenance role. We’re not looking for someone to “keep APIs alive. ”

You’ll design and scale the backend, make bold architectural calls, and build APIs that frontend engineers love to use. You’ll dive deep into data flows, caching, and performance—always thinking about how backend decisions shape the user experience.

You value clarity over complexity, impact over showmanship, and you care about how your work affects millions of real users.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve backend systems that support millions of active users—from designing architecture to ensuring reliability at scale.
• Build APIs that engineers love—clean, reliable, and intuitive so the frontend team can move fast without friction.
• Work with complex data flows, caching, and messaging, balancing performance with simplicity.
• Detect and resolve performance bottlenecks before users notice.
• Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and data teams to ship quickly and iterate faster.
• Bring fresh ideas, push limits, challenge assumptions, and raise the bar for backend engineering.

Qualifications

• Solid experience building backend systems at scale (5+ years).
• Strong Node. js and Type
  Script skills—async code should feel natural.
• Experience designing scalable architectures and RESTful APIs that other engineers love to work with.
• Deep knowledge of Postgre
  SQL and Elasticsearch—comfortable with large datasets and
  - world optimization.
• Hands-on experience with Redis and Rabbit
  MQ—fast and resilient systems.
• Infrastructure familiarity—configuring Nginx and deployment details.
• Extra points for Flutter or Kotlin experience; curiosity and adaptability matter more than a checklist.
• Thrives in
  - changing environments where deliverables beat perfection, and impact comes first.

Interview process

• Initial call with the People team (30 minutes).
• Technical interview with the Tech Lead (90 minutes).
• Chat with the CTO and VP of Product (60 minutes).
• Most candidates finish the process in under 4 weeks.
