Engineers are the backbone of all we do at Pleo. We are looking for experienced Backend Engineers to join our
- functional product teams, with a focus on
- side languages like Kotlin and Type
Script.

As a Senior, you should be an expert in
- side languages, with proficiency in Kotlin being highly beneficial since over 90% of our microservices are built with it. Your responsibilities include writing
- tested, maintainable code, providing insightful PR reviews, leading technical initiatives, managing tech debt, and supporting incident management and
- mortems.

You will take ownership of large projects such as product launches, migrations, and microservice design. You should be adaptable to shifting priorities and capable of guiding your team through ambiguity and change.

We value team members who set standards through their work and culture, fostering trust and transparency. Your role will involve collaboration across various domains including Platform and Services, Partnerships, SMB, and Credit.

Key skills and experiences include:

• Proficiency in
  - side languages (Kotlin, Type
  Script)
• Experience with cloud environments, distributed systems, and microservices (AWS, Google Cloud, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of relational databases (Postgre
  SQL)
• Familiarity with testing frameworks (Cypress, JUnit, Testcontainers)
• Monitoring and observability (Datadog)
• Dev
  Ops tools and practices (Git
  Hub Actions, Terraform, Gradle)

You should also:

• Communicate fluently in English
• Be curious and eager to learn new technologies
• Have experience solving complex technical challenges at scale
• Maintain high standards for quality and reliability
• Coach and mentor peers
• Participate actively in solution design and technical reviews
• Help your team address technical debt with proposed solutions

The annual salary varies by location: €87, 000-€93, 000 in Spain/Portugal and £79, 000-£83, 000 in the UK. More details will be shared during your initial interview.
