Job Overview

Prisma is an open‑source database company building advanced data infrastructure, working with distributed graph data at scale. We are a small distributed team creating high‑performance, developer‑friendly tools backed by top‑tier investors.

Responsibilities

• Expand the Prisma Client to support advanced database capabilities.
• Drive the full development cycle from technical design to implementation.
• Continuously refine and harden the codebase to ensure stability, maintainability, and ease of contribution.
• Build new libraries and tools that serve as foundational components for internal teams and the developer community.
• Elevate the developer experience (DX) by shaping intuitive, high‑quality tools that make database access a delight.
• Advance Type
  Script adoption by exploring and applying the latest language features.

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Senior Software Engineer (or equivalent), delivering production‑grade systems.
• Deep backend engineering expertise with Java
  Script and Type
  Script, writing clean, maintainable, scalable codebases.
• Strong database proficiency with high‑scale, data‑intensive systems, query optimization, performance bottleneck diagnosis, and index management.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Continuous learning mindset, proactive feedback, rapid adaptation, and collaboration.
• Team‑oriented, valuing pairing, mentoring, and peer support.
• Passion for building outstanding developer experience through sustainable, well‑tested tools and infrastructure.

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Contributions to open‑source projects (maintainer or active contributor).
• Experience with system‑level programming languages (C, C++, Go, Zig, etc. ).
• Experience with edge computing platforms (Vercel Edge, Cloudflare Workers).
• Exposure to Web
  Assembly (WASM) and its backend applications.
