Senior Consultant - Accounting

Location: Lisbon, Portugal

Department: Accounting

Employment Type: Permanent

Summary of role

The role is part of the Apex accounting team reporting to the Partners based in Lisbon. This role acts as a support team member to the accounting team working on the client’s Portuguese companies, supporting with review of monthly accounting, month end reporting, preparation and review of tax returns, and supporting junior consultants in their roles.

Responsibilities

• Execution and review of accounting for several companies from Apex client portfolio
• Support to the junior consultants on their tasks
• Production of financial monthly and/or quarterly reports
• Production of financial statements
• Preparation of tax returns
• Client relationship management with other stakeholders related to client operational matters

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience with significant exposure to Portuguese tax compliance and Portuguese GAAP
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with accounting ERP systems
• Strong
  - solving, communication, influence, and interpersonal skills
• Organised and accurate working methodologies
