We’re now hiring a Senior Counsel, Immigration & Taxes—a globally minded,
- on legal builder with deep knowledge of international tax and immigration. This isn’t a
- office legal role. You’ll be at the heart of our expansion, product innovation, and client success.

About the Role

As Senior Counsel at Zerra, you’ll be the legal force behind our
- border mobility solutions. This is a deeply
- on role where you’ll design and deliver legal products, lead complex immigration and tax matters, and help scale the operational backbone of our platform. You’ll work at the intersection of law, technology, and client service—shaping our global playbooks, solving
- stakes cases, and building from the ground up in a
- moving, MVP-stage environment.

Problems We Want You to Solve

• Architect scalable tax and immigration offerings (“tax bundles”) that combine legal strategy, documentation, compliance, and pricing.
• Translate
  - evolving tax and immigration rules into
  - friendly frameworks and product logic.
• Codify legal expertise into documents, templates, and tools that power the Zerra platform.
• Identify key jurisdictions for expansion and map their immigration/tax pathways.
• Source, vet, and contract with local law firms, tax advisors, and legal service providers.
• Build
  - specific playbooks and protocols for internal teams and clients.
• Act as legal lead on complex,
  - border relocation cases—balancing technical precision with
  - world clarity.
• Work closely with Sales and Client Success to scope proposals, answer due diligence questions, and win
  - value clients.
• Represent Zerra in client meetings as the expert voice on compliance, planning, and
  - specific options.

Support Ops, Product & Team Building
Partner with Product & Engineering to turn legal strategy into product features, automations, and decision trees.

• Train case managers and internal teams on legal best practices and client handling across different markets.

This role is for you, if you have:

• Legal Training: You’re a qualified lawyer with experience in immigration law, international tax, or global mobility.
• Hands-On & Practical – You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves, talk to clients, rewrite a tax memo, or jump on a call with a local partner.
• Tier 1 Mindset: Trained in a
  - tier law firm or Big Four environment, with a high standard of legal rigor and client care.
• Cross-Border Expertise: Familiar with
  - jurisdictional tax and immigration frameworks—especially in Portugal, Spain, UAE, Thailand, and other key relocation hubs.
• Client-Facing Confidence: Able to communicate complex legal issues simply and persuasively—internally and with clients.
• Tech-Ready: Curious about legal tech and excited to
  - create tools that productize your expertise
