The role
We’re looking for a Senior Credit Strategy Analyst to help design, analyse, and optimise Go
Cardless’s credit risk strategy. You’ll play a key role in understanding portfolio performance, shaping policy recommendations, and developing
- driven strategies to manage and mitigate credit losses across our global merchant base.
This role does not perform underwriting or credit assessments – that work sits within our Credit Underwriting team, part of Shared Services. Instead, you’ll work closely with them and other teams, such as our product organisation, internal operations teams, and commercial teams to ensure our credit policies and frameworks are robust, scalable, and commercially aligned.
You’ll work in a small team that leads our approach to credit – from new product risk design to

What excites you
Helping us launch new products & enter new markets
- Work collaboratively to bring new products to life, and to support market expansion initiatives.
- Collaborate with Product, Legal, and Engineering teams to define
- mitigating product features (e. g. reserve models, caps, loss provisioning). - Ensure credit exposure is appropriately scoped and managed in
- stage designs. - Develop strategic frameworks for managing credit risk across our customer base, tailored to both SMBs and enterprise merchants.
- Analyse trends in portfolio performance and develop recommendations to reduce loss exposure.
- Work with
- functional teams to implement interventions (e. g. policy changes, automation, product levers).
Building
- functional partnerships
- Partner closely with the Credit Underwriting team (in Shared Services) to ensure strategic alignment between credit policy, execution, and performance outcomes.
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Product, Engineering, and Commercial teams to embed credit risk into key business decisions and systems.
Build out our rules and models
- Define, write, test and deploy our credit monitoring and decisioning rules and models.
- Review those rules and models regularly to ensure they are performant, and drive our reporting on credit risk across the business.
- Have a hand in the development of capabilities that underpin our decisioning and modelling systems.
What excites us
- Experience in credit risk strategy, ideally in payments, fintech, or financial services.
- Strong understanding of credit exposure in B2B environments.
- Proven ability to partner with operational teams to drive outcomes – you’ve worked with underwriting teams before.
- Data-savvy and comfortable working with risk, finance, or performance metrics to inform decisions.
- Strong data background with skills in SQL modelling and using data environments such as Big Query.
- The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, especially when it comes to explaining complex credit concepts to diverse audiences.

Base salary ranges are based on role, job level, location, and market data. Please note that whilst we strive to offer competitive compensation, our approach is to pay between the minimum and the
- point (£48, 000 - £60, 000) of the pay range until performance can be assessed in role. Offers will take into account level of experience, interview assessment, budgets and parity between you and fellow employees at Go
