About the role

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join the company’s Data & AI division based in Lisbon. This team plays a key role in building scalable data platforms and powering advanced AI-driven products that impact user engagement, fraud detection, and personalized recommendations. You will work closely with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Product Analysts, and other technical specialists to design and maintain robust data solutions that support
- grade machine learning systems.

Role Highlights:

• Position: Senior Data Engineer
• Type of work: Hybrid from Lisbon.
• Work from office requirements: 1 day per week from the office, 4 days per week from the office. A remote option could be possible if located outside Lisbon.
• Type of contract: Full-time employment contract.
• Contract location: Portugal
• Type of company: International growing tech company with operations in 15+ markets with around 2500 employees across several continents.
• Years of experience required: 5+ years of experience.
• Must-have tech skills: Python, Spark/Py
  Spark, data modeling, Apache Kafka, familiarity with cloud platforms and distributed systems.

What will you do

• Build and maintain scalable,
  - performance data processing pipelines in distributed environments.
• Develop microservices in Python to deliver
  - time data features to production systems.
• Design and support internal tools that enable CI/CD workflows, data versioning, and experiment tracking.
• Implement and monitor data quality processes to ensure integrity and consistency across pipelines.
• Collaborate with AI teams to transform raw data into
  - ready features for ML models.
• Contribute to the design of distributed software systems and architecture decisions within the data ecosystem.

Ideally you bring

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working in
  - scale,
  - intensive production environments.
• Advanced programming skills in Python.
• Strong
  - on experience with Spark and Py
  Spark.
• Solid knowledge of data modeling and experience managing structured and unstructured data.
• Experience with Apache Kafka and
  - driven data architectures.
• Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Excellent
  - solving and communication abilities.
• (Nice to have) Experience with Databricks,
  - time data processing frameworks, and No
  SQL databases such as Redis or Neo4j.
• (Nice to have) Familiarity with machine learning lifecycle concepts and collaboration with ML teams.
