Ops Engineer (mainframe)

As a Senior Mainframe Dev
Ops Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and execution of Dev
Ops practices within the organization, with a strong focus on mainframe environments. This position is instrumental in bridging the gap between traditional mainframe development and modern Dev
Ops methodologies, fostering seamless collaboration and accelerating the delivery of
- quality software solutions.

You will have the unique opportunity to define, architect, and manage the CI/CD strategy for a diverse and complex ecosystem of software products spanning multiple platforms, with a primary emphasis on z/OS systems. Your expertise will be critical in streamlining development workflows, enhancing automation, and ensuring consistent and reliable software delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and maintain CI/CD pipeline, and ability to maintain continuous integration, delivery, and deployment (CI/CD) process for a complex set of software requirements and products spread across multiple platforms.
• Monitor and manage infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
• Define and develop, test, release, update, and support processes for Dev
  Ops operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application development, deployment, and operations.
• Select tools and technologies which best fit business needs.
• Lead platform upgrade/migration/maintenance independently.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, then utilize them to enhance the software infrastructure.
  
  

Qualifications:

• BE/BTECH or a relevant degree
• 3-5 years of Dev
  Ops experience.
• Hands-On experience on various Dev
  Ops concepts and tools like Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) using various tools like Git, Jenkins, Artifactory/Nexus etc.
• Strong knowledge of Shell Scripting and any other programming languages such as Python, C, Groovy, Java , YAML.
• Experience working on Linux infrastructure.
• Familiarity with IBM z/OS-based infrastructure is advantageous, particularly in hybrid enterprise environments.
• Experiential learning on Infrastructure as Code tools (like Terraform, Ansible).
• Hands-On experience on Container & Container Orchestration tools like Docker, AWS ECS, Kubernetes and infrastructure monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Experience with designing, building, and maintaining
  - native applications across major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of Data Protection, Privacy and Security domain.
• Understanding of agile methodologies and principles.
• Knowledge of databases and SQL.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in
  - functional teams including nearshore and offshore.
