Introduction

This is an opportunity to be part of the engineering team in Portugal of an AI- and
- driven financial crime operations company from Iceland, headquartered in Reykjavík. The Company is focused on transforming how financial institutions fight financial crime, building and operating an Azure-native platform that combines scalable data engineering, advanced agentic AI, and workflow automation to make AML operations faster, more accurate, and significantly more
- efficient. The target is moving beyond

- tool toward delivering automation, intelligent agents, and operational outcomes. This includes:

• Agentic AI systems to support and automate case decisions
• Precomputed analytics, detection engines, and workflow automation
• Human-in-the-loop intelligence that reduces manual workload
• A platform that enables significantly lower

  - serve for AML operations

This shift requires a strong engineering discipline centered on design clarity, scalability, and
- term maintainability. The Company maintains a rigorous
- first culture, where architectural decisions are documented, reviewed, and debated before implementation. Engineers work through design documents, RFCs, and structured discussions to ensure transparency and consistency across the platform.

The new engineering group will be building the technological core of this operational transformation.
