The opportunity

We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to help drive our projects ensuring they are completed to standard, on time, and within budget, with a focus on delivering the design component of mining projects, preparation of calculations and designs for design reports and CAD drafting to formal drawings. Further to this, the role will see you:

• Provide engineering expertise to the project team, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices.
• Create designs for our projects - drawings, cable and termination schedules, drawing/equipment/instrument/IO lists, functional specifications, data sheets
• Resolve technical issues and deliver solutions to engineering challenges
• Assist in implementation of QA/QC procedures.
• Maintain open and effective communication with all project stakeholders.
• Identify and understand scopes of work and be part of the design team with execution, including procurement.

About you

Bringing engineering design expertise across either electrical, control, instrumentation, and communications disciplines within mining projects, you have
- depth knowledge of Australian Standards and confident in interpreting and following client specifications and drawings.

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia) and a CPEng / NER / RPEQ certification will be highly advantageous.
• Power
  CAD5 and/or SKM Power
  Tools experience
• Auto
  CAD, Micro
  Station experience and Rio Tinto, BHP and FMG Design experience highly advantageous.
• High voltage design, Dialux or similar Lighting design experience advantageous.
