Senior Electrical Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team in Portugal. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and delivering electrical systems for infrastructure in mission‑critical projects, a strong understanding of MEP requirements, and must be registered with the Ordem dos Engenheiros in Portugal.

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design and development of electrical systems for mission‑critical projects across low, medium, and high voltage networks, UPS systems, generators, and lighting. They will oversee substations and complex power distribution systems, collaborate with mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions, perform calculations and simulations, and manage project deliverables while maintaining compliance with Portuguese and international regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of electrical systems for mission‑critical projects, including low, medium, and high voltage networks, UPS systems, generators, and lighting.
• Design and oversee the development of substations and complex power distribution systems to ensure efficient and reliable energy supply for critical facilities.
• Collaborate with mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver fully integrated MEP solutions.
• Perform calculations, simulations, and detailed engineering analyses to ensure optimal system performance and compliance with industry standards.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met within timeframes and budgets.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers to maintain quality deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with Portuguese and international regulations, standards, and codes relevant to infrastructure projects.
• Conduct site inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years specifically in mission‑critical projects.
• In‑depth knowledge of low, medium, and high voltage power systems, including backup power solutions and energy‑efficiency practices.
• Proven experience in designing substations and managing complex electrical systems for critical facilities with high uptime requirements.
• Strong understanding of Portuguese building regulations and international standards such as IEC, IEEE, and EN.
• Proficiency in Auto
  CAD, Revit MEP, and simulation tools for electrical systems.
• Excellent project management, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
