We are looking for a Senior Embeeded System Engineer position located in Porto .
Key Responsibilities
- System Migration: Lead the hardware and firmware migration from the legacy STMicroelectronics ST10F269 microcontroller to the new Infineon XC228x
H platform. - Firmware Porting: Port the existing
- metal codebase, written in C and Assembly, to the new microcontroller architecture. This includes adapting
- level drivers and ensuring functional parity. - Hardware Redesign and Review: Conduct a thorough analysis of the new schematics that will be redesigned by other (printed circuit board that will accommodate the new microcontroller and any necessary supporting components).
- Circuit Design Analysis: Analyse and validate the system's
- signal circuits. This includes: - Analog input stages with operational amplifiers (TL084) and analog switches.
- Power supply circuits, including DC-DC converters (LM2599) and SMPS controllers (UC2844).
- Interfaces for PWM outputs and various digital I/Os.
- Peripheral Integration: Develop and debug
- metal drivers for all microcontroller peripherals, including ADCs, timers, PWM units, CAN, UART (RS232), SPI, and I²C. - Interface Management: Ensure the correct functionality of external interfaces, including the PC104 bus and a Lattice M4A5 CPLD.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in
- level electronic design and embedded systems development. - Programming: Expert-level proficiency in C and Assembly for
- metal embedded applications. You must be comfortable working without an RTOS. - Microcontrollers: Extensive
- on experience with 16/32-bit microcontrollers. Direct experience with the STMicroelectronics ST10 family (like the ST10F269) and the Infineon XC2000 family (like the XC228x
H) is highly preferred. - Digital Electronics: Strong understanding of digital logic, bus interfacing (specifically PC104) , and memory interfaces (SRAM, Flash).
- Communication Protocols: In-depth, practical knowledge of implementing and debugging communication interfaces, particularly CAN and RS232, at both the firmware and hardware levels.
- Hardware Design Tools: Proficiency in schematic capture and experience reviewing complex,
- layer PCB layouts.
